The post-Covid world can be both scary and confusing, to young an old. However, there is a silver lining: This great crisis has also been an inflection point for societies and economies worldwide and very likely lead to a period of great opportunity, marked by new technologies and societal changes, such as remote work and learning. For example, while ChatGPT is associated by some as the end-of-employment-as-we know-it, it is likely to be yet another “shining new thing” that society will learn to embrace and grow with, generating in the process many new job categories. How such technologies may affect employment and career opportunities for GEN Zs is a central theme of this session. Should they worry? Will the coming transformation happen in an equitable manner? What could young people do to help secure a better future for themselves?
